5 Delicious Fruit-Based Snacks for Kids
Fruits provide many essential vitamins and minerals and should be a crucial part of your child’s diet, but off-the-shelf fruit snacks are not a good option. Fruit-based snacks for kids are often packed with preservatives and artificial ingredients, making you think twice before giving them to your kid. Instead, here are some fabulous fruit-based snacks for kids that you can make at home. 1. Fruit muffins
Take a whole grain muffin and cut it in half. Spread some cream cheese on the lower half, drizzle pomegranate seeds, and add a slice of kiwi fruit. Top it off with a spoon of honey and place the other half on top. This makes for a delicious high-fiber fruit snack and will keep your kids feeling full for much longer.
2. Pears and peanut butter
Here’s a different take on eating peanut butter. Take a large-sized pear, slice it in half, and remove the seeds and stalk. 4. Frozen yogurt and fruit snacks
If it’s summer, your kids would definitely want cold snacks. Now, allowing them daily ice creams or fizzy drinks is not a good idea, so here’s a delicious alternative. Simply take Greek yogurt of different flavors and add several separate dollops on a large plate. Each dollop should be the size of a small ice cream scoop. Then, slice strawberries, berries, and kiwis and stick in one fruit slice per dollop of yogurt. Place this in the freezer until frozen and thaw only a bit before serving. 5. Kiwi on a stick
Kiwi slices make for great lollipops. Simply slice kiwi fruits and place each slice firmly on a lollipop stick. Melt some white chocolate in the microwave and dip the tip of each lollipop into the chocolate. Add some sprinkles and keep it to freeze.
